Gartner reports more than 70% of current IT-dominated collaboration initiatives will fail – and it points blame at IT.

It argues collaborative tools are ultimately a business process more than a technical process.  Driven by IT alone, the resulting configuration and deployment of tools may not understand nor address real-world business needs and process – setting the groundwork for failure. Can IT incorporate business processes into implementation, or should a deployment be handed over to more process-minded leadership?

Is this Ripe, and it is not suited to drive a successful enterprise-level collaboration plan?  Or do you think this is Hype?
