The working landscape has changed dramatically during the past few years. The way people work today is not the same as their grandparents and even their parents worked. Years ago people were stuck at their desks. Their computer, phone, files, etc. were in a cubicle and could not be moved. But today that has all changed.

Today employees are free and able to move. And the BYOD movement has freed employees even more. Employees can work at the office, from home, or in a coffee shop and still have access to their computer and files.

The freedom that BYOD allows can make employees feel empowered. Employees no longer need to feel as though they are owned by their company, but instead that they are working hard and being effective on their own.

What do you think? Is this ripe and BYOD gives employees a sense of empowerment? Or is this just hype?
