Every day new ideas are turned into products, apps, services and businesses – they can even launch new industries. This is the fast-paced idea economy where IT teams like yours are under tremendous pressure to drive business innovation and deliver exciting new IT experiences, often with the challenge to do so while reducing costs.

You and your team need to support traditional IT infrastructures and applications, of course. However, you are also expected to deliver availability to new cloud applications as well. It’s no short order. We have found that a great approach leverages a “composable hybrid infrastructure” which enables you to configure and reconfigure all your compute, network and storage resources so you can provide an IT experience that keeps ideas, innovations and inspirations flowing.

Let me explain what I mean. A composable hybrid infrastructure is a platform that supports traditional IT – what’s in your data center today – as well as private and public cloud connectivity – what’s going on tomorrow. Composable infrastructure is completely programmable and software-defined – infrastructure-as-code. This provides you with increased flexibility and capability, allowing you to stand up new resources in minutes with software-defined intelligence so you can automate and accelerate service delivery through a single interface.

Why the focus on infrastructure? Because, one fundamental asset the CIO and IT department have is the ability to turn IT infrastructure into an enabler of business agility and growth. It is the platform that helps you compete and deliver results.

Three key aspects of a composable hybrid infrastructure make it a must have for any organization that needs to meet internal as well as external customer demands quickly and cost effectively:

  1. It provides a fluid pool of resources. Your compute, storage and network fabric resources are pooled together and provisioned to use at will.
  2. It is built with software-defined intelligence. This is where you define the resources you need and manage the resource lifecycle.
  3. It leverages a unified API. You can apply the power of infrastructure automation to every part of your data center.

All of this is designed to help you and your team roll out new processes, new products and new services faster, more reliably and repeatably – at a lower cost.
