According to an Open Group survey of cloud specialists at global organizations, ranging in size from fewer than 200 to more than 5,000 employees, C-level executives control cloud decisions.

The survey was carried out online between February and March, 2011. The survey results showed more than half of buying decisions required CEO and CIO level approval; 23% and 32%, respectively. IT directors accounted for 22%, while enterprise architects held just 7% of buying power.

How does this relate to your organization’s approach to cloud computing decision making?  Is this Hype (the C-levels are not as involved as the research may indicate) or is this Ripe (cloud decisions are made in the C-suite)? Feel free to share your comments below, too!
