A recent survey conducted by job search website, Dice, shows just how much some IT leaders want to telecommute. In fact, 35% of IT workers said they would take a 10% pay cut to work from home.
A CIO.com article featured these survey results, but argued why you should actually be paid more to work from home. Here are a couple benefits to the employer:
- Productivity will rise (no co-workers to chat with, no traffic to make you late)
- You save the employer money (one less person using office supplies, food, etc., reduced infrastructure costs, less office space needed)
What do you think – is this Hype (your organization would never support telecommuting this much) or Ripe (this is something that is happening more and more in your organization)?
