According to a new study, “The State of the Data Center,” from data center association AFCOM, more IT leaders are saying the cloud is in. The association surveyed 358 data center managers from around the world to find out how data centers are adapting to the ever-evolving IT environment.

The top three concerns were:

1. Physical space
2. Energy efficiency
3. Security

The survey showcases the continued transition to the cloud. When the company last did the survey in October 2009, very few data centers were even interested in the cloud, let alone actually adopting it. Now, the data center managers are more familiar with the risks and concepts, and cloud computing is quickly becoming a new standard of operation.

What do you think – is this Hype (your business is not quite there yet), or Ripe (the cloud is in)?
