The consumerization of IT is nothing new, but it has been one of the most disruptive trends CIOs have faced.  This trend will continue to accelerate, but it’s important to recognize it can offer great business benefits.

The challenge becomes that companies don’t want employees using unapproved technologies, software, hardware, or tools at work because of the security risk. Realistically, no matter how many policies your IT team creates, employees will use those “unapproved” things anyway.

So, in order to survive consumerization, you need to embrace it and find the opportunities for business.  What do you think about this concept; are you embracing consumerization, and this is Ripe, or do you think consumerization isn’t here to stay and this is Hype?
