Logicalis believes that innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Building representative and inclusive teams not only enables organizations to gain new perspectives and solve age-old problems, but it also helps foster innovation.

Diverse teams are even more critical for driving technology innovation. According to IDG’s 2021 State of the CIO survey, 77% of IT leaders saw a clear connection between the rate of innovation and the diversity of a technology team—a sentiment echoed by 80% of IT leaders at high-tech companies.

To promote diverse and inclusive teams, Logicalis encourages and supports employee resource groups (ERGs) and the value they bring to our community. The largest, the Military Personnel Employee Resource Group (MPERG), includes those who currently serve or who have ever served in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard—whether on active duty or in the National Guard or military reserves—and their spouses.

As nearly 200,000 servicemen and women return to civilian life each year, the Inclusive Leaders Group wanted to know what organizations are doing to proactively embrace, attract, hire, and retain veteran employees.

They asked Ed Graves (USAF, ret.), Logicalis Manager of Platform Services and founding member/inaugural president of MPERG, to join other distinguished leaders from the US Dept of Veterans Affairs and USVets to share their experiences and insights and discuss the value of including veterans in the workplace.
