Logicalis Leaders Honored by CRN for Their Channel Expertise and Vision

CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, recently named three Logicalis leaders—Karen Gervasi, Nickie Peters, and Nancy Saltzman—to its Women of the Channel list for 2022, which honors the accomplishments of female leaders in the IT channel. Get to know these exceptional leaders and how they impact the customer experience in their roles.

Karen Gervasi, Director of Sales Operations: Karen has been with Logicalis for 23 years, taking on increasingly progressive roles. Because channel sales are notoriously complex, she sought to streamline the quote-to-order process by leading the alignment of the sales support and purchasing functions. Now there’s a single point of ownership from quote through purchase, making it easier for customers to do business with Logicalis.

These improvements reflect a company-wide commitment to act as Architects of Change™ and build processes and solutions that drive forward progress and innovation.

As Karen says:  “I love digging into individual orders and figuring out how to get them completed for delivery to the customer, and invoiced correctly the first time. This gives me a sense of accomplishment that I am able to say ‘done with that one.’”

Her advice?  “I would advise anyone to have a clear understanding of how the systems you use work and to stay diligent with your responsibilities. It is important to own your workload.”

Nickie Peters, Senior Director of Portfolio Management: Nickie owns the lifecycle management of Logicalis’ solution portfolio, turning investment needs, priorities and resources into marketable solutions that align with our clients’ business needs and objectives. In essence, she enables our employees to move offerings through the process to become market ready.

With Logicalis since 2006, Nickie has standardized our portfolio lifecycle process to ensure we’re bringing market relevant solutions to our clients and developed an approach to incorporating products and services from our channel partners. She’s also created a wide view of offerings to connect Logicalis’ solutions and services based on client needs.

As Nickie says:  “My current role allows me to organize, create, and interact with all aspects of our organization. Amazing people work at Logicalis, and I love that I get to engage with many of them. Over the past year, I have been reminded of the power and importance of communication. Everything I do is about communication with our business units, and I love communicating with teammates to help move us all in the same direction.”

Her advice?  “There are so many opportunities in this industry. Explore different roles to figure out where you are going to be the most successful. The one consistent you can count on is that technology will always change and advance, so make sure you are ready to do the same.”

Nancy Saltzman, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary:  Nancy provides leadership, strategy and direction to the company and oversees all legal activities including compliance and regulatory affairs. In her role, she serves as a collaborative business partner and trusted advisor to Logicalis’ senior management and its board of directors. She brings over 25 years of legal experience and 15 years in executive leadership to her role.

Nancy is also dedicated to implementing diversity and corporate social responsibility programs focused on innovation and growth and, as a result, was named one of the 2021 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council.

As Nancy says:  “Trust is a key differentiator for many customers and a core component of our channel business. That includes within our own organization. Since joining Logicalis, I have built partnerships between the legal team and the sales teams, strengthening their trust and the trust of our customers. Today, our attorneys are brought into deals early to listen and understand the customer’s priorities. This added visibility allows us to adapt to customer needs, manage our risks and improve customer experience, and also results in more nimble contracts and shorter contract cycles.”

Her advice?  “Work hard. If you don’t understand something, ask questions. Don’t apologize but own your mistakes. Support colleagues and make time to help; the old adage ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’ is true. Be curious without limitations—you may work in one department but the more you understand how your role intersects with other functions, the more empowered you will be to drive successful outcomes.”
