Although the federal government plans to adopt a “cloud first” approach to IT, some critics have noted that it will run into challenges sharing information with other countries. However, others say there are ongoing international efforts to solve data ownership concerns.
The U.S, the European Union and the World Economic Forum are working to establish data storage standards that span across international boundaries, data protection and privacy, among other issues. However, there are differing ideas regarding ownership, and an agreement may not be in our near future for the cloud.
