According to CIO.com’s coverage of a recent government technology conference, IT leaders stated that the debate over the government switch to cloud computing is over and it is an inevitable outcome to lower costs and improve efficiencies.

Security is still one of the main issues discussed amongst Federal CIO’s, but the benefits cloud applications have provided the private sector — including collaboration, increased storage and productivity — are hard to ignore.

Are the benefits so great that it’s simply a matter of time before the public sector switch and this is Ripe?  Or is it Hype and we should expect more debate to come?
