As IT leaders know, today’s cloud-based backup and recovery solutions store customer data on multiple, mirrored disk systems. And most of these can be quickly repopulated with any virtual or physical replacement server. So, in the case of a disaster, companies can resume operations in a matter of hours or even minutes.
Because of this, some are saying the cloud will eliminate tape. Others believe a hybrid disk-cloud-tape solution is the most effective.
