PaaS (Platform as a Service) market will grow up to $1.2 billion this year. Next year Gartner is predicting that PaaS spending will be up to $1.5 billion and up to $2.9 billion in 2016. The US alone will take up 42% of the total PaaS market.
Even though the PaaS marketplace continues to grow, it is still relatively modest compared to other categories of the cloud. However Gartner believes that as PaaS continues to grow the cloud market will shift. In fact one report even said that a “rapid aggregation” of PaaS components into suites will emerge.
