Let’s face it. Traditional security methods just aren’t up to the task of protecting organizational infrastructures and data from theft and ransomware. That’s a huge problem, because as organizations increasingly embrace a number of cloud-first platforms for everything from customer relationship management (CRM) to marketing automation platforms (MAP) to enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms and beyond, they are increasingly at risk from malware and cybercrime that is more advanced and harder to thwart.

Enterprises need a next generation – or Advanced Threat – approach to cloud security. This requires a comprehensive methodology for recognizing, assessing and addressing threats to enable enterprises to provide 360-degree cloud security. An Advanced Threat Approach for Cloud Security should provide a consistent security policy where services and applications are deployed that reaches beyond the data center to multi-cloud environments (private, public, hybrid) and extends to the edge – the internet of things (IoT) – where network-connected devices reside.

While the severity of attacks differ widely, nearly every digitally enabled business has experienced some kind of cybersecurity event. Therefore, today’s enterprise – and the digitally-enabled enterprise of tomorrow – requires a different approach that is up to the task of responding to the increasing cloud demands of customers while providing the highest levels of digital security.
