A recent survey from SWC Technology Partners, which surveyed 210 midmarket IT and business leaders, found that security and privacy were cited as the primary reasons they are not pursuing cloud computing.

However, are these the real reasons they are avoiding the cloud? Some people have responded to this survey saying that time or money are the greatest influencers of whether or not something new gets done.

Most midmarket companies would benefit greatly from the use of cloud computing as it provides flexibility, scalability and financial benefits – all things midsize organizations can reap the greatest payback from.   Yet because they often lack the resources and money to truly evaluate cloud computing, they could be missing out on a great opportunity.

What do you think about this analysis of the midsize businesses using cloud?  Is this Hype (time and money aren’t really the issue), or is this Ripe (time and money are the real road block)?
