Over the last year many organizations have started using the cloud. In the beginning stages of the cloud many organizations experimented with how they used the cloud and what they used it for. Of these organizations most have only used the cloud where they feel like it was truly necessary.

But many industry analysts believe that 2013 is the year that companies will need to become more serious about the cloud. John Treadway from Cloud Technology Partners believes 2013 will mean that companies need to become serious about the cloud as a part of their IT operations. Along with other analysts Treadway believes companies will need to implement a hybrid cloud strategy that puts select workloads in the public cloud and keeps others in house.

Do you believe this is ripe and therefore agree with Treadway and other industry analysts that 2013 is a time to get serious about the cloud as part of IT operations? Or do you believe that Treadway’s views are only hype?
