Logicalis signed a strategic partnership agreement with IBM SoftLayer recently that expands our already-extensive cloud offerings in North America. We signed this agreement in response to rapid changes in the way the CIOs we partner with want to use the cloud to leverage new capabilities and cost savings for their organizations. We thus decided to add extended capabilities to our cloud and managed services portfolios.

Mike Martin, Senior VP of Solutions and Services at Logicalis, comments on the importance of this partnership: “The way businesses look at computing is changing rapidly today. CIOs are not as concerned about the physical hardware and software as they are about delivering compute resources in the way their users want to consume them. That means they need rapid self-provisioning, automation and capacity-on-demand—all attributes they’ve come to rely on the cloud to provide.”

Martin also adds that CIOs need these attributes packaged in new ways that make delivering compute resources both cost-effective and easy to manage. Through our agreement with IBM SoftLayer, we are thus extending our ability to build cloud environments that support varied business workloads.
